L’Ecole: Adaptive Re-use of Faulkner Street School

New Smyrna Beach, FL

I designed and produced construction documents for this project while working with Will Miller and Chris Frank in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The original school was built in 1918, with a tabby stucco exterior. The conversion was to condominium apartments. Unfortunately, the recession of 1990-91 hit, and the owner ended up selling off the property. The building, though historic, was torn down to build crackerbox spec houses. A real loss to the community there.
